Sorry for the late post guys. I've been wanting to post it for quite sometime, unfortunately i was busy with other stuffs and all.
It was a 3 days and 2 night stay at Melaka town. We left in the morning from J.B, it was a 2 1/2hrs journey. By the time we reached there it was lunch time. We headed to the A Famosa Chicken Rice Ball restaurant at Jonker Walk. We were amused to see 5 rice balls in a plate with roasted chicken. It didn't taste extraordinary. The rice was mashed and was shaped in small urandai. I prefer the normal type of rice. Anyway, we checked in and left our things in the hotel and got freshen up a bit and left for Jonker Walk. There were many antique shops and souvenier shops. Since it is a tourist spot, many items were over-priced. The T-shirts were god damn expensive and the quality was not so good as we can get better Tees in J.B. at a cheaper price. So some items were not worth buying. In just 2 hours, i managed to get a few pairs of earrings, bags and souveniers for my friends and some goodies. Had some western tea at a nearby outlet and headed to the hotel. My hubby had a quick nap while i took a shower.
Our next destination was to A Famosa, the hallmark of Melaka built by the Portuguese in 1511 as a fortress. We went for an hour trishaw ride around the town area which also passed by The Maritime Museum, a large ship that actually has a museum inside. It was constructed after the Portuguese ship called 'Flor De La Mar'. It was pleasant to the eyes, nice yellow lighting and the breeze was amazing. The trishaw man briefly showed us around and told us the baba culture as well. What next, our tummy were making noise already, headed for dinner at a nearby Chinese food court.
The next morning, we had breakfast at the hotel's cafe and headed to Dataran Pahlawan and Mahkota Parade, both are shopping centres and as usual, shop around and had lunch at Ole Sayang, a famous Peranakan Restaurant. The food was mouthwatering and i was seen with a bloated stomach thereafter, Lol.....
Our next destination was Kg Morten Village, an antique house built without nails, can u imagine it??? I was lost for words. The owner of the house showed us around and allowed us to take some shots. (refer to the last two photos in 4th row) Back to the hotel after that and got ready for The River Cruise. A 45mins river cruise touring the Malay village, which has a clear view of the ancient houses at Kg Morten and the fishing boats. After alighting the boat, we drove to the Portuguese Settlement for dinner. **Highly recommended by one of my hubby's colleague. We ordered Chili Crab, Butter Prawns, Oven-baked fish and Mixed Vegetable. I nearly cried finishing the items. It sucks!!! It tasted very raw and didn't had any aroma at all. I nearly felt like killing his colleague who recommended us to this shop called De Costa's. None of the above items was good. The dinner spoiled the day. My hubby was being very nice and offered to go for a Foot reflexology nearby and both of us had a mild massage. It was heaven.
Before we left Melaka, we visited the zoo and said hi to all our friends living there. Despite some of the bad experiences we had, it was indeed a nice trip and we enjoyed ourselves.
