What Do Dreams Mean???

The question hasn't been clearly answered by science yet. It's possible they are a way to exercise the brain. Some theorize that dreaming is a way to categorize and "file away" things that weren't sufficiently dealt with during the day. This theory could explain why daily events so often become a part of that nights dreams.

Dreaming does seem to be necessary. In experiments, people have been prevented from dreaming by being woken up whenever they started, as evidenced by their REM or "rapid eye movement," which accompanies dreaming. This seems to cause mental distress, although this distress was often nothing more than increased attempts to dream. Still, those woken an equal number of times, but randomly, didn't seem to suffer as much.

We may need to dream, but we don't know why, and we could argue endlessly about the meaning of the content of our dreams. There are many old wives tale but some say its superstitious and some do believe. An unexplainable topic.

i believe dreams are reciprocation of the current events in your life. Whatever dreams you have they are connected with what is going on in your life at the same moment - like your tears, joys, disappointments, achievements etc
Once i even solved a very complicated math task in my dream :D

@ Lena & Sakun

Sometimes too much of thinking in our heads and the tiredness causes us to dream. For some people it comes true, for some it has the opposite effect.

As for me, it is always the reverse effect. A couple of years back, my hubby and i planned to go for a holiday to Pulau Langkawi. So we gathered many info on the places to visit, hotel bookings, food and culture. We were very well prepared to go and i had this dream that we were actually holidaying on that places that we wanted to visit. I was kind of very excited about the dream.

Unfortunately, our country was hit by tsunami and the most affected area was Pulau Langkawi. A shattered dream or could it be that sometime just alarmed me not to go. I just thanked the god.

Anyways, we will definitely visit the place one day.

this post reminds me of my dream i had and blogged some time ago.

i was sleeping n awaken by the warmth n the brightness. when i ran outside home, i saw thousands of bright stars - all not blue but golden in color. shining n blinking outside my home. i sat there watching the beautiful sky for couple of mins. and suddenly everything went blank. as if someone pulled out the plug. i was so disappointed in the end.

eppadi nambe dream?
